Villa Canteena
Vibrant Mexican-fiesta beachfront villa with private patio bar

Most venues rent you a space inside a bigger property. This one hands you the property: a gated beachfront estate with five villas, two palapa suites and a dedicated event palapa.
Hacienda del Secreto is a private family beachfront estate on Playa del Secreto that hosts weddings when it is not reserved for family use. It is not a hotel with a wedding department: for more than 25 years and 200+ weddings, the same property has run one event at a time, for one group at a time.
| What planners ask | Hacienda del Secreto | Typical resort venue |
|---|---|---|
| Who else is on the property | Your group only, on a 3+ villa buyout | Other guests, other events |
| Guest lodging | On site: 60+ guests, 27 bedrooms, seven accommodations | Room blocks, separate towers |
| Ceremony setting | The estate's own beach; May–Oct turtle-nesting season on the same sand | Shared beach sections |
| Reception spaces | Event palapa · The Butterfly Landing pavilion · gardens with cenote | Ballroom inventory |
| Event capacities | confirmed in writing during planning | Published per ballroom |
| Catering | Estate restaurant & chefs; menus built with the culinary team (outside food vendors aren't part of the model) | Banquet packages |
| Vendor rules (planner/photo/music) | guidelines confirmed during planning | Preferred-vendor lists |
Where a cell says "confirmed during planning," that answer exists — the estate provides it in writing during your planning conversation. We don't publish numbers we can't stand behind.
Guests don't leave after the last dance — they walk upstairs. Three of the seven accommodations, for scale:
Vibrant Mexican-fiesta beachfront villa with private patio bar
Turquoise-and-gold Caribbean villa across three luminous levels
Mayan-inspired three-level villa in limestone with cenote at its edge
Yes. Reserving three or more villas closes the estate to anyone outside your group — a total buyout of the villas, suites, pools, event palapa and beach frontage.
Overnight, the villa collection sleeps 60+ guests across 27 bedrooms. Ceremony and reception capacities for the beach, event palapa and The Butterfly Landing are confirmed during planning with the estate team.
The estate runs its own private restaurant with chefs preparing everything from Mexican breakfasts to five-course dinners — served table-side, poolside, beachside, or beside the cenote by candlelight. Outside food vendors aren't part of the estate's model; menus are planned with the culinary team.
Venue visits and planning calls are handled by the Villa Experience team with the estate directly. Bring your questions; you'll get written answers.
